It's a good try, Aliona. However,it seems to me you forgot the most important rule: not to use would in if clauses! IN your case after if you had to use Past Perfect.
As you know, last winter I had broken my leg. And I'd like to tell you how it had happened.
That winter holiday I spent in mountains in Rumania. Everything was perfect; I was in high spirits… It would have been the most wonderful holiday in my life, if 31.12.2010 I hadn't decided to go down a hill on a sled. (It wasn't enough for me to enjoy the mountain scenery, mountain air!) So I went down a hill on the sled, stumbled over a hummock and the sled overturned. What had happened next, I didn't remember. I didn't even realize at first that my leg was broken.
The ending of the story was pretty obvious. I was brought at the hospital; my broken leg was put in plaster. Two next months I spent at home, dreaming about what would have happened, if I hadn't done that mistake.
“The Rape of Europa” V. A. Serov http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/41/Europe_serov.jpg
Historical footnote: The rape of Europa is a popular theme in global art. The story is borrowed from Ancient Greek mythology. Europa is the daughter of Phoenician king Agenor. Having turned into a bull, the king of gods Zeus abducted beautiful Europa.
“The Rape of Europa” is painted by a prominent Russian painter, and one of the premier portrait artists of his era, V.A. Serov. It is an oil painting on canvas. The central figures of the painting, the goddess Europa and Zeus in the guise of a bull, are posted against an open sky and the sea. Every detail in this composition plays its part in the composition. The sky and the sea, for example, merge into a single entity, revealing the feelings that have filled the artist while drawing this picture. These are to my mind: acknowledgement of the nature's might, subjugation to it. Europe's looking down eyes express the same feelings. The picture is painted in cool, subdued tone, in colour scheme where blue predominate. The figure of bull is the only bright spot in the painting. I think the artist has emphasized it purposely. Thus he has showed the power, the might of the ancient god.
I wouldn't say that this picture is my favourite one, but it is a “picture of my childhood”. I have found it in one of my Mom’s illustrated magazines and have been sitting for hours looking over a mysterious woman on the bull. Neither being a child nor today I can't explain why this picture has impressed me so deep.

Great commentary on the painting, Aliona!
